Job summary

Warren CAT in Oklahoma City seeks a Field Service Technician to deliver high-quality repair and maintenance on heavy equipment at customer sites, with extensive travel to ensure maximum value. You will diagnose, repair, test, and adjust machines and engines, document work orders, and provide accurate quotes.

Success requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days, familiarity with diagnostic software, and a customer-focused approach in fast-paced field conditions.

• Knowledge of database software; internet software; manufacturing software and order processing systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to management and customers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments.
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Apply specific failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed. This position is primarily field based with significant travel to customer locations for onsite service.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of database software; internet software; manufacturing software and order processing systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire for field assignment, must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle.
• Mastery knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
• Must be certified in air-conditioning.
• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on call.
• Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform duties.
• Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
• May be required to complete a DOT physical.
