Field Service Technician – Power Distribution Systems

PTS Advance is partnering with a global OEM and industry leader in electrical power solutions to expand its Electrification Field Service Division. We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technicians to join a world-class team focused on the installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of Medium and Low Voltage (MV/LV) Power Distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, UPS systems, PDUs, and more.

This position is remote-based with regional travel and offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, company vehicle, overtime/double-time pay, 401(k) with match, full medical benefits, PTO, and career growth opportunities within a globally recognized organization.

This position reports to:

Field Service Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform field service work (commissioning, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing) on MV/LV power distribution systems including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, UPS, PDUs, and related equipment.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Identify technical problems, conduct root cause analysis, and provide corrective actions.
  • Proactively identify equipment failures and potential improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Maintain detailed service reports, documentation, and communication with customer representatives.
  • Coordinate and prepare materials, tools, and documentation necessary for service tasks.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support to junior technicians and apprentices.
  • Adhere to and promote all safety regulations, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with electrical power distribution systems in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or utility settings.
  • Strong working knowledge of MV/LV equipment such as switchgear, transformers, relays, UPS, STS, and PDUs.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent military or field experience.
  • Electrical certifications or licenses preferred (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, NICET, NFPA70E, OSHA 10/30).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and regionally as required.
