C & B Material Handling, LLC, a leader and supplier of choice in material handling equipment, automation solutions, and industrial equipment rental, is seeking a Field Service Technician for our location in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This position involves working within an assigned territory, reporting from home daily, and delivering top-quality service for forklifts, lift trucks, pallet jacks, reach trucks, boom lifts, heavy equipment, and other material handling machinery.

Essential Duties

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on forklifts, lift trucks, pallet jacks, reach trucks, boom lifts, and other warehouse vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with LP, diesel engines, electrical power equipment, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
• Service a variety of forklift and aerial lift brands, including Hyundai, Bobcat, Clark, Genie, JLG, Skyjack, and others (based on branch availability).
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as multimeters and hydraulic gauges to efficiently identify and fix equipment issues.
• Participate in OEM-certified training programs to stay updated on the latest equipment repair techniques and models.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Inspect and manage the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment to ensure safe operations.
• Load and unload equipment as needed.
• Promote and sell service department offerings, including scheduled maintenance programs, safety inspections, and replacement parts.
• Mentor and guide less experienced service technicians in forklift repair and troubleshooting.
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a forklift mechanic, heavy equipment technician, or in diesel, truck, or auto repair.
• Strong knowledge of tools and techniques used for industrial equipment repair.
• Proficient in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel for job assignments within the territory.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of working on warehouse equipment, telehandlers, and other material handling vehicles.
