Job summary

Otovo is seeking a Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators in the San Diego area.

This role targets an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting the transition to clean energy.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing solar energy systems and related equipment.
• Knowledge of NEC and safety procedures.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites
