Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators. This role suits an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems, and delivering excellent customer service to support the clean energy transition.

The position requires 4+ years of electrical experience, a valid driver's license, and a state electrical license or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years electrical experience required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/AHJ and utility interconnection.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on rooftops.
• Willingness to travel locally and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on solar systems and components.
• Commission new systems and upgrades per NEC/AHJ and utility requirements.
• Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain service records, inspection reports, and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.

Position Summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled and dependable Field Service Technician to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you'll service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators.

This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving complex problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites

• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent)
