Field Service Technician

For over 180 years, The Verdin Company has been manufacturing cast bronze bell ringing systems and decorative outdoor clocks for houses of worship, cities & towns, universities, and commercial customers. Our products bring beauty and joy to thousands of communities across North America.

We are looking for a full-time Field Service Technician in the Philadelphia area to join our growing team. In this role, you will travel to our customers’ locations to install, troubleshoot, and maintain their bell and clock equipment. Our business is vibrant and expanding, with over 75,000 installations across the country.

In this role, you will:

1. Travel frequently, up to 50% overnight depending on project backlog. Most work will be within a day’s drive, allowing you to be home at the end of the day. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and a clean driving record. We will provide resources such as a vehicle, tools, mobile phone, and laptop.
2. Climb stairs and ladders of varying heights to reach equipment in bell & clock towers. Work on ladders up to 40 ft. high and on lifting equipment like boom lifts, scissor lifts, and man-buckets.
3. Possess basic mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills; training will be provided on our products, but interest and aptitude in fixing equipment issues using manuals, drawings, and support are required.
4. Lift and carry mechanical equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
5. Program electronic control equipment with manuals and technical support.
6. Represent Verdin professionally to customers, communicating confidently and courteously.
7. Document and summarize field work clearly using end-of-work reports.

Additional skills and abilities we value:

• Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with electronics or electro-mechanical equipment.
• Experience in rigging, construction, or metal fabrication is a plus.
• A self-starter who works independently, thinks creatively, and solves problems.
• Military experience is welcome.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation: Salary starting at $30.00+ per hour depending on skills and experience. Bonus opportunities and overtime are available.
