Job summary

Innovate is seeking a Field Service Technician in New Jersey to install, service, and repair industrial equipment at customer sites. This role involves hands-on electrical troubleshooting and field work, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will read schematics, work with VSDs and drives, diagnose control systems, and provide technical support to customers. HVAC experience is a plus, and candidates should be comfortable working independently out in the field.

Qualifications

Are you a Field Service Technician with strong electrical troubleshooting experience looking for a role where you can be home every night?

We’re working with a well-established industrial equipment business that is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join its growing team. This is a hands-on role working directly with industrial customers, troubleshooting, servicing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical equipment.

The role would suit someone with a strong electrical/electromechanical troubleshooting background. Experience with HVAC, compressors, pumps or other industrial equipment would be a major advantage.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial equipment
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and pneumatic control systems
• Working with 3-phase electrical systems, motors, starters, transformers and circuit protection
• Troubleshooting control panels and control boards
• Working with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and AC/DC drives
• Reading and interpreting electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
• Troubleshooting sensors, switches, transducers and other feedback devices
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and general mechanical tasks
• Supporting equipment installations and associated field work
• Communicating professionally with customers and providing effective technical support

What you need:

• Previous experience in field service, industrial maintenance or electromechanical service
• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience
• Good understanding of motors, controls and electrical systems
• Ability to read electrical and pneumatic diagrams
• Experience with VSDs, drives, control panels or PLC/relay logic
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
• HVAC experience is highly desirable but not essential
• Comfortable working independently at customer sites
