Job Description

Field Service Technician position requires travel from site to site for service and repair of commercial food processing, bakery, and other miscellaneous equipment at various food service locations.

Technicians are dispatched from central offices and are responsible for the care of company service vehicles, accurate inventory of parts, clean and neat paperwork, and exceptional on-site customer service.

The field technicians are the first line of contact with many of our customers, and they are a key component in representing our company through expert service, teamwork, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to help customers in need.

We have a strong family of technicians and support staff throughout the entire east coast.

Responsibilities

1. Daily travel to customer sites to evaluate and repair equipment.
2. Completing service reports, timesheets, and expense reports.
3. Performing periodic preventive maintenance inspections and procedures.
4. Interviewing store personnel to determine the need for service.
5. Instructing store personnel in proper operation techniques.
6. Responding to emergency breakdown calls whenever possible.
7. Participating in rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, plus Post-Secondary Trade School for electrical, mechanical, and gas or equivalent experience.
• Valid Driver's License that is insurable (no alcohol- or drug-related convictions, no excess moving violations or accidents).
• Good independent judgment, reliability, initiative, and dependability.
• Ability to work on roofs, scaffolds, and ladders at medium height (approximately 30 ft.).
• Practice the proper use of hand tools, power tools and diagnostic instruments if necessary.
• Well versed with email, internet searches and software.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines.
• Good verbal, writing, and reading skills, including the ability to read, interpret, and apply manufacturer’s instructions.
• Good communication skills to comply with store personnel, as well as the ability to prioritize demands and make adjustments.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to occasionally travel overnight.
