Job summary

Horizon Bradco, A Smart Care affiliate, is seeking a field service technician to service commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing and related food service equipment. Join a team that partners with restaurant and hospitality managers to deliver complete service solutions.

You will diagnose and repair equipment using diagrams, work with manufacturers for parts, participate in on-call rotations, and maintain a clean, stocked service vehicle.

Qualifications

• 1 year of technical experience with refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Willingness for emergency on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with restaurant and hospitality managers to deliver complete service solutions for commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and other specialized food service equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment using diagrams and schematics.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment including cooking, refrigeration, and ware-washing appliances.
• Communicate with manufacturers for parts identification and technical assistance.
• Install customer-ordered parts in compliance with company policies and standards.
• Complete accurate administrative tasks such as work orders and time tracking.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with restaurant and hospitality managers to deliver complete service solutions for commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and other specialized food service equipment.
• Apply your mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair equipment using diagrams and schematics.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, including cooking, refrigeration, and ware-washing appliances.
• Communicate with manufacturers for parts identification and technical assistance when necessary.
• Leverage the Technical Assistance Group for onsite support as needed.
• Efficiently install customer-ordered parts in compliance with company policies and professional standards.
• Recommend additional Smart Care services when beneficial to customers.
• Complete accurate and timely administrative tasks, such as work orders, time tracking, receipts, and truck stock inventory management.
• Follow safety protocols and accident prevention procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, ensuring accurate parts and tool inventory.
• Achieve productivity levels that meet company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds
• Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock in damp, humid, or freezing conditions
• Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and other high places

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of technical experience with refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
• Willingness and ability to be involved with the emergency on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends
• Availability for occasional overnight travel as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications (i.e. EPA, CFESA)
• Commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment repair experience
• Self-motivated with the proven ability prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision
