Job summary

ABB in the United States is hiring a Field Service Engineer to perform startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on analytical equipment, both on-site with customers and remotely as needed. You will travel up to 90% of the time, build strong customer relationships, and train field staff and customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or technical degree with 2+ years, or equivalent Associate/High School with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Strong technical background in startup, commissioning, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of analytical equipment.
  • Ability to build solid customer relationships and work with minimal supervision; willingness to travel ~90%.

Responsibilities

  • Perform startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on analytical products such as gas analyzers and chromatographs.
  • Identify technical issues, prepare material lists, and ensure availability of parts and equipment for service activities.
  • Train field service staff and customers; carry out on-site and remote service as needed.
