Job summary

ZEISS Group is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate advanced measuring instruments at customer sites across the region. You will travel 70–90% of the time, primarily within your region, solving complex technical issues with hands-on skills and precise attention to detail.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus technical training in electronics or industrial mechanics; military training is acceptable.

Qualifications

• Minimum, High School graduate or GED or equivalent.
• Technical education in Electronics or Industrial Mechanics is a plus.
• Military technical training is acceptable to meet qualifications.
• Experience with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites within the region to install, repair, troubleshoot and calibrate advanced measuring instruments.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Work independently in a fast-paced, innovative environment and represent ZEISS on-site.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure high-quality service.

Location/Region

Position requires you to live within the Allentown, PA and surrounding area.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Engage in a comprehensive ~3 month in field and classroom training program to ensure you have the skills and tools to be successful.
• Once trained, you will travel to customer sites in your region to Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate the most advanced measuring instruments in the world.
• Work hands on to learn new skills on high tech CMM's (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Work independently while representing the company in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
• Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.
• Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
• Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
• Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT.
• Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
• Valid Driver License required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
• Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.

• Competitive Base Pay offered
• OT: Average OT is 10 hours a week and paid out at time and half - we basically pay for your travel time!
• Annual bonus program: - eligible for an additional bonus at the end of the year.
• Company vehicle - can use it for personal use as well!
