Job summary

ZEISS in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. After an intensive ~3 month in-field and classroom training, you will travel to customer sites in your region to install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate our advanced measuring instruments.

You will work hands-on with high-tech CMMs, document service work, and represent ZEISS in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Experience using hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Attend ~3 month training in field and classroom to gain skills and tools.
• Travel to customer sites in your region to install, repair, service and calibrate CMMs.
• Work hands-on to learn new skills on high-tech CMMs and associated electronics.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Represent ZEISS in a fast-paced, innovative environment and travel 70–90% in-region.

Location/Region

Position will work in Portsmouth, NH and surrounding area.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Engage in a comprehensive ~3 month in field and classroom training program to ensure you have the skills and tools to be successful.
• Once trained, you will travel to customer sites in your region to Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate the most advanced measuring instruments in the world.
• Work hands on to learn new skills on high tech CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Work independently while representing the company in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
• Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.
• Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
• Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
• Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT.
• Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
• Valid Driver License required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
• Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.

• OT: Average OT is 10 hours a week and paid out at time and half - we basically pay for your travel time!
• Annual bonus program: - eligible for an additional bonus at the end of the year.
