Job summary

Visual Edge IT in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and service copiers and printers at client sites. This field-based role includes a company vehicle, comprehensive training, and opportunities to grow within a nationally recognized organization.

You should have 3+ years in the industry, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A relevant degree is preferred, and travel to customer sites is required on occasion.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
• Experience servicing copiers/printers; Xerox/Ricoh/Kyocera/HP experience a plus.
• Associate degree or higher in electronics or electrical engineering preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maximize equipment uptime by responding quickly and completing effective repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on copiers and printers.
• Diagnose technical issues using customer feedback, electronic data, and observations.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through clear communication and dependable service.
• Travel to client sites as required.
• Accurately complete service documentation.

Job Summary

Visual Edge IT is looking to add a talented copier/printer technician to our amazing team! The Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the client’s copiers and printers. This is a field-based role. A full training program is available, and a company vehicle is provided. Mechanically inclined candidates with strong customer service skills are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maximize equipment uptime by responding quickly and completing effective, efficient repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure proper functioning of copiers, printers, and related devices.
• Diagnose technical issues using customer feedback, electronic data, and observations.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through clear communication and dependable service.
• Partner with clients, sales teams, and internal staff to meet deadlines and ensure smooth operations.
• Accurately complete service documentation, including parts usage, call closures, and meter readings.
• Provide feedback to improve processes and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Some travel is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience is preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills.
• Prior experience servicing office equipment such as copiers and printers preferred; Xerox, Ricoh, Kyocera, or HP experience a plus.
• An associate degree or higher in electronics or electrical engineering is preferred equivalent experience will be considered.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of networking and computer systems
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (must meet company vehicle eligibility requirements)
