Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Field Service Technician to repair and maintain trash and recycling equipment across customer sites. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues, perform welding and fabrication repairs, and manage equipment startups and preventive maintenance.

The role requires travel to customer locations, reading electrical/hydraulic diagrams, and delivering professional service while safely upholding company standards.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of mechanical repair experience.
• Experience with multiple repair disciplines and hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Wastequip is looking for a Field Service Technician to repair and maintain trash and recycling equipment, including compactors, balers, and hydraulic systems. The right person should have experience with electrical troubleshooting, hydraulic repairs, welding, and mechanical repairs. This position requires traveling to customer locations to diagnose and repair equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair compactors, balers, and other trash equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical problems.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs.
• Install new equipment and complete equipment startups.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Read electrical and hydraulic diagrams when needed.
• Complete work orders and service reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Communicate professionally with customers.
• Follow all company safety policies.

Physical Requirements

• Lift to 75 pounds.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Climb ladders, bend, kneel, and crawl when needed.
• Willing to travel to customer job sites and work overtime when necessary.

Preferred Experience

• Experience repairing compactors, balers, or waste equipment.
• Experience with 480V electrical systems.
• A CDL license is a plus but not required.
