Job summary

Otovo is seeking a Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators. You will work onsite, travel locally, and ensure safe, code-compliant installations and repairs.

The role emphasizes hands-on electrical work, problem solving, and excellent customer service while supporting clean energy adoption. Training and safety are prioritized in this field.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• State electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.

This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving complex problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities
