Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators. This hands-on role requires electrical know-how, problem solving, and strong customer service while supporting clean energy deployment.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of electrical experience, a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 pounds, and willingness to travel locally, with the resilience to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Knowledge of NEC/AHJ and utility interconnection requirements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.
• State electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades per NEC/AHJ and utility requirements.
• Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.

Otovo is seeking a skilled and dependable Field Service Technician to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you'll service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators.

This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving complex problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendationsRepresent Otovo professionally at customer sites
