Job summary

Total Foodservice Group (TFG) is hiring a Field Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair restaurant kitchen equipment at customer sites in Brownsville/McAllen, TX. The role requires traveling to customer locations and maintaining high service standards.

The ideal candidate will hold EPA 608 certification, a valid driver’s license, and be able to operate company vehicles. 21+ to drive, with strong communication and tools experience; on-call hours may be required.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Requires 21+ years of age to operate company vehicles.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in Brownsville/McAllen and surrounding areas.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

TFG is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in the Brownsville or McAllen, TXarea.

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing foodservice equipment at customer sites. You’ll ensure equipment operates at optimal efficiency, address customer concerns through clear communication, and maintain high service standards. Technicians will manage their assigned territories, perform timely repairs, and proactively address potential equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

Service Technicians are responsible for installs/repairs, upkeep, and troubleshooting of restaurant kitchen equipment sold and serviced by TFG.

• Completes system installations by fabricating, mounting, and connecting various components such as: compressors, motors, control panels, gauges, and other related components to ensure power connections are secure and equipment is operationally sound.
• Responsible for assigned customers and territories, as well as administrative duties pertaining to customer calls, expense reports, time sheets, and tracking of necessary preventative maintenance and requests made by customers.
• Identifies malfunctions by testing, repairing, or replacing equipment/parts.
• Presents and maintains a professional image.
• Properly documents repairs and actions by completing equipment records.
• Builds and fosters strong relationships with customers each visit.
• Continues to learn on the job through participation in educational opportunities and training.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.

• Kneel, crouch, bend, or work from the floor for extended periods of time
• Drive for extended periods of time as required for customer service calls and travel between job sites
