Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced mining equipment technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems on underground mining equipment at high profile sites. You will be responsible for new equipment commissioning and training with minimal supervision, and for ensuring safe, reliable operation.

Candidates must have technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields and at least 7 years of industry experience, with underground mining exposure,

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years industry related experience.
• Underground experience required.
• Diesel and high voltage electrical experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and or electrical aspects of underground mining equipment and components at high profile mining sites
• responsible for new equipment commissioning and training at customer sites with minimal supervision
• inspect equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions
• adjust equipment and repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work
• test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
• complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
• actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
• ensure customer satisfaction within the area of primary responsibility

Requirements

• Previous success in self-motivated roles
