Job summary

Babcock & Wilcox is looking for a dedicated Field Service Technician to perform a variety of complex technical field assignments involving air pollution control products. The ideal candidate will have solid electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, a Bachelor's in engineering or relevant experience, and excellent communication abilities.

This position requires traveling up to 70% of the time and offers opportunities to advance into engineering and project management roles. Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Job description

Overview

Perform a variety of complex technical field assignments involving the installation, inspection, modification, testing or troubleshooting of air pollution control products and equipment such as wet and dry ESPs, fabric filters, scrubbers, etc. Provide assistance to customers in choosing appropriate B&W products for performance improvement when applicable. Spanish language proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service operations that may involve testing and verification of equipment and addressing unusual problems requiring strong technical skills.
• Write detailed reports of problems encountered, tests performed and work completed.
• Assist in planning and coordinating team efforts.
• Support Sales efforts, including assisting in presentations when needed. Spanish language proficiency a plus.
• Often work non-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions.
• Work independently to accomplish tasks and effectively manage time to coordinate multiple jobs.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
• Adapt to a changing work environment and cope with delays or unexpected events.
