Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Field Service Technician III to maintain and install network infrastructure across Arizona markets. The role covers central office equipment, fiber/copper facilities, and customer premises gear, with opportunities to lead projects and drive service sales.

Candidates should have 2+ years in telecom, fiber splicing experience, and a valid driver’s license. On-call, travel, and overtime are expected; a $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years technical telecommunications experience or military service with honorable discharge.
• 1+ year of basic fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing and repair, installation and repair, or switch training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, tests, splices, repairs, and maintains telephone equipment and general network equipment for customers.
• Installs, configures, maintains, and repairs central office equipment and related systems; updates manuals and provides support.
• Provides advanced troubleshooting support techniques and corrections; responds to trouble dispatches.
• Provides high level support for enhancing and maintaining record systems (cross connects, line groups, network elements, etc).
• Provides excellent customer service and proactively educates and sells TDS products and services to customers.
• Performs project management for the installation of systems and related functions.
