Job summary

Power Solutions International (PSI) is seeking a Field Service Technician III - Data Center Power Systems to provide onsite commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support for PSI-powered standby and data center systems. The role requires extensive travel across the South Central and Southern U.S.

and involves remote and onsite diagnostics, customer coordination, and quality improvements. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of field service experience on diesel engines or standby generators,

Qualifications

• Five+ years of field service experience on diesel engines or standby generator sets.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a range of diagnostic tools.
• Ability to interpret engine diagrams and electrical schematics and use diagnostic software.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite commissioning and startup support for PSI-powered standby generator sets at data centers and mission-critical facilities.
• Witness site acceptance, load banks, and integrated systems testing; review engine performance and resolve punch-list items.
• Troubleshoot engine, fuel, cooling, and control faults remotely and onsite using PSI diagnostic software and tools.
• Serve as onsite technical resource to packagers, EPCs, contractors, and end-user teams; escalate to PSI teams when needed.
• Lead field quality investigations and document failures, data, and conditions to support root-cause analysis.
