Job summary

Power Solutions International (PSI) is seeking a Field Service Technician III – Data Center Power Systems to provide onsite commissioning, troubleshooting and support for PSI-powered standby power products across the South Central and Southeast U.S.

This home-based role requires extensive travel to data centers and mission-critical facilities, with responsibilities including witnessing site tests, documenting data, and communicating findings to PSI teams.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of hands-on field service on diesel engines or standby gensets.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving with diagnostic tools.
• Ability to interpret engine wiring diagrams and installation drawings.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 75%.
• Residence near primary territory or willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite commissioning and startup support for PSI-powered standby generator sets at data center and other mission-critical facilities, verifying installation and scope.
• Support and witness site acceptance, load bank and systems testing; record performance data and drive punch-list resolution.
• Troubleshoot engine, fuel, cooling, aftertreatment and control faults remotely and on-site using PSI diagnostics.
• Serve as on-site resource to genset packagers, EPCs and end users; escalate to PSI when needed.
• Lead field quality investigations by capturing data, photos and logs to support root cause analysis.
• Execute field containment actions including inspections, retrofits and campaigns with proper reporting.
