Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install, troubleshoot, and maintain telecommunications equipment at customer sites in Lewisport, KY. The role requires splicing, testing, and servicing fiber and copper facilities, with a strong emphasis on customer-facing solutions.

The position offers potential growth to Technician III, a sign-on bonus of $2,500, and requires relocation considerations within a 60-minute drive from the Lewisport warehouse.

Qualifications

• 1+ year basic telecommunications experience or military service with honorable discharge.
• 6+ months of basic fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing and repair, installation and repair, or switch training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, tests, splices, repairs, and maintains telephone equipment and general network equipment for customers.
• Installs, configures, maintains, and repairs Key Systems, PBX, Centrex, and other business systems.
• Performs cabling work including fiber/copper and locating facilities to prevent damage.
• Provide excellent customer service and educate customers on TDS products and services.
• Project management of system installations and related tasks.
