Job summary

Nvenia in Wood Dale, IL seeks a Field Service Technician to deliver lifecycle management for OEM equipment, including installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, repairs, audits and training. You will travel to customer sites to perform planned services, troubleshoot issues, and provide upgrades.

The role requires five years in electro-mechanical field service, PLC/servo drive experience, and the ability to work in time-pressed environments with strong safety sense.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical machines in the field.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and stay overnight as needed.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics is desired; EE/ET/EECS or Industrial Electronics degree is a plus.
• PLC integration experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service calls for installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits and training at customer sites.
• Modify mechanical/electrical components and configure PLC/servo drives as required.
• Provide clear documentation of service activities and outcomes.
• Support on-call and weekend emergency technical support on a rotation basis.
• Attend training and meetings to stay current with equipment and processes.
