Field Service Support Technician

We welcome candidates with in-home experience, such as utility workers or home health aides supporting customers at home. We are hiring in Massachusetts: Boston, MA.

This role supports the Boston area within a 100-mile radius. If you reside within a 30-minute drive of Boston, this position might be ideal for you.

The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm, with some flexibility to meet customer needs.

The starting pay is $15/hr, with additional earnings based on installations and services completed weekly, plus mileage reimbursement. The potential annual income can reach up to $60,000.

Role Overview

The Field Service Support Technician plays a vital role within our Lifeline division, delivering emergency response services, medication management, and digital engagement solutions tailored for seniors. Your responsibilities include in-home installation, service, and retrieval of Lifeline emergency equipment and other monitoring devices. If you are caring, compassionate, and enjoy working independently with seniors, this role is a great fit. The territory covers Boston, MA, and surrounding areas within a 100-mile radius.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjust training approaches to meet subscriber needs, ensuring understanding of services.
  • Educate and train subscribers and caregivers in a professional, respectful manner.
  • Process work orders for installations, training, service, and equipment retrieval.
  • Schedule and complete appointments within standard timeframes, providing excellent service.
  • Introduce subscribers and caregivers to Lifeline equipment and services, ensuring comfort and understanding.
  • Maintain communication regarding work order status and manage equipment inventory.
  • Submit required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Occasional evening or weekend appointments for emergency services may be required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to operate basic office and communication equipment (fax, PC, smartphone).
  • Basic understanding of electronic devices and online applications.
  • Patient, caring, and compassionate, especially with seniors hesitant about technology.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and follow installation instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within a 100-mile radius (up to 75% travel).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and climb stairs.
