Job description

Job Title: Field Service Supervisor

Location: 100% Remote, USA

Reports to: Field Service Manager

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Hourly

Job Summary:

The Field Service Supervisor (FSS) has the full responsibility of managing a working crew of mechanics to support KATS projects. This position will work with the customer site contact to ensure all contractual obligations are being met at the highest level of client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Safety: The goal is zero recordable injuries.
  2. Lead daily shift start-up meetings.
  3. Ensure JSA's are completed and any new hazards are identified throughout the day.
  4. Execution:
    1. Understand the full scope of projects assigned.
    2. Ensure other team members understand the scope.
    3. Communicate with the client throughout the project keeping them up to date.
    4. Utilize team members on the project efficiently and effectively.
    5. Ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
    6. Ensure documentation is completed in a timely manner, including time sheets, inspection sheets, and pictures stored in the appropriate SharePoint folders.
    7. Identify client requests for changes in scope and notify the project manager for potential change orders.
  5. Communication:
    1. Communicate with team members on the job site to ensure they are working safely and efficiently.
    2. Communicate effectively with superiors to give status updates.
    3. Communicate regularly with the assigned project engineer to ensure disassembly and assembly are completed correctly and with the proper documentation.
    4. Coach team members as needed to improve their performance and communication.
    5. Discuss and identify training needs with teammates.
    6. Be an advocate for the company and your team.
    7. Identify opportunities for additional field service, repair work, or engineered solutions.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Demonstrated competency in hands-on maintenance of steam turbines, reciprocating compressors, engines, centrifugal compressors, or gas turbines (typically 5+ years of experience is required).
  2. Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills - Outlook, Excel, Teams.
  3. Proven industry leadership; recognized by internal and external peers.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.

Education and Experience:

  1. 5+ years' experience maintaining rotating equipment required.
  2. 2 years leading teams preferred.
  3. 2 year technical degree preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to stand for long periods, kneel for reasonable periods, climb ladders.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  3. Able and willing to travel to various work locations and client sites up to 100%.
  4. Able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  5. Able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour

Schedule: 8 hour shift
