Job summary

City of Huntington Beach is seeking a Field Service Representative in the Public Works Refuse Division. Under general supervision, you will perform field inspections, address licensing, billing issues, and enforcement of the city's solid waste and recycling franchise.

This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work with residents, businesses and contractors. Occasional evenings, weekends or holidays may be required; you will coordinate with multiple city departments,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, county and municipal codes.
• Ability to read and interpret applicable codes.
• Strong customer service principles and practices.
• Safety methods and techniques.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Performs and coordinates field inspections to ensure licensing and franchise compliance; schedules inspections and maintains records.
• Inspects properties for licensing and billing accuracy; issues notices for non‑compliance as appropriate.
• Acts as liaison between customers, City and contractors to resolve service issues.
• Coordinates between refuse hauler, city departments and finance to resolve billing problems.
• Assists with utility and refuse service applications and discontinuances.
• Maintains attendance and adheres to safety guidelines.
