Job summary

ANDRITZ – Allen-Sherman-Hoff (ASH) is seeking a hands-on Field Service professional who blends field diagnostics, troubleshooting, and customer-facing business development to solve equipment challenges in power plants and industrial facilities.

You’ll travel ~50% to sites across the U.S., perform on-site diagnostics, support installation and commissioning, and build long-term relationships by delivering practical technical recommendations and training.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial equipment, mechanical systems, or material handling systems.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Field Service & Troubleshooting: perform on-site diagnostics and troubleshooting of ash handling and material handling systems.
• Support installation, startup, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
• Evaluate existing systems and conduct multi-day site assessments to identify performance improvements.
• Customer-Facing & Relationship Building: work with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams; deliver technical recommendations and training.
• Build long-term customer relationships through hands-on support; be a trusted advisor for equipment and process challenges.
• Business Development & Growth: identify aftermarket service, upgrade, and parts opportunities; support proposals and scopes; partner with Sales, Engineering, and Aftermarket teams.
