Job summary

Impact Environmental Group in Skokie, IL is seeking a Field Service Technician specialized in compactor and baler repair. This hands-on role requires diagnosing electrical and hydraulic systems, welding, and performing repairs both on site and in our shop.

You will provide detailed reports and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience with mechanical systems, electrical components, and PLCs, plus a strong commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years old and valid driver's license.
• Experience as a compactor technician or similar.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work rotating on-call including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and identify issues with compactors quickly and accurately.
• Weld and fabricate as needed.
• Use diagnostic tools and perform repairs and maintenance.
• Explain repairs to customers clearly and provide reports.
• Maintain safety and adhere to protocols.
