Cummins Inc. is seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in West Sacramento, CA.

You will complete preventative maintenance and basic repairs on generators or components at customer sites with minimal direction. The role involves diagnosing, servicing, maintaining records, following safety policies, and pursuing ongoing certifications to support Cummins products.

Qualifications

• In order to be successful, the candidate will have broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High voltage and low voltage experience is required.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in (West Sacramento, CA)

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

(Entry)

• Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.
• Basic Diesel Engine experience.
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

Immaculate driving record and license needed for this position.

• A current valid CDL is required for this role.
• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations
• This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing
• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Current relevant electrical certification

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Minimal level of workshop related experience required.

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products

High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
