Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to diagnose and complete less complex repairs on generators and components at customer sites in the Hilliard, OH area. The role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation support along with competitive pay and benefits.

You will perform maintenance and repairs, utilize diagnostic tools, and maintain service records while adhering to Cummins safety policies and continuously developing product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
• A current valid license is required for this role.
• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in (Hilliard, OH)

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
• Basic Diesel Engine experience.
• Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
• Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation.
• A current valid license is required for this role
• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• 3 years driving experience
• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
• A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Current relevant electrical certification

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Basic level field service work experience

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products

High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience

Customer service experience
