Cummins Inc. is seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic in Mishawaka, IN for on-site work. You will perform generator repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics, while delivering professional customer service and maintaining thorough service records.
The role requires hands-on electrical/mechanical skills, HV/LV experience, and the ability to work with power generation equipment including ATS systems. A valid license and ongoing training are expected.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Mishawaka, IN
Completing repair activities on generators or components
Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of service
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
Basic Diesel Engine experience.
Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation.
Salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred), Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution, Current relevant electrical certification, Locally valid driving permit, this position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience: Basic level field service work experience, Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products, High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience, Customer service experience
Conducting load bank testing
Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches and switchgear
Coordinate with subcontractors or other departments for site repairs
A current valid license is required for this role
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
3 years driving experience
This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
