Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Coburg, Oregon is seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to complete preventative maintenance and basic repairs at customer sites with minimal direction.

You will engage with customers professionally, perform diagnostics, maintain service records, and stay current with Cummins safety policies and product certifications. Relocation and sign-on bonuses are offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
• Apprentice trained or technically certified in power generation preferred.

Requirements

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.


• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.


• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

Entry Level Requirements

• Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.


• Basic Diesel Engine experience.


• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

On‑call Rotation

• A current valid license is required for this role


• This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations


• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical


• 3 years driving experience


• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use


• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)


• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution


• Current relevant electrical certification


• Locally valid driving permit


• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

• Minimal level of workshop related experience required.


• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products


• High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
