Job summary

THOMPSON MACHINERY in Memphis, TN is seeking a Paver Field Service Technician to work hands-on with Caterpillar paving equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment, performing routine maintenance, and engaging directly with customers about their machinery. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience with heavy equipment and knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems. Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working on heavy equipment; paving or asphalt equipment experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CAT paving and compaction equipment including asphalt pavers, rollers, and related systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on paving equipment.
• Use diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues.
