Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic B to be an expert technician ensuring our fleet stays in top condition while serving customers at job sites. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy equipment, and educate customers on safe, proper usage to minimize future breakdowns.

The role requires a high school diploma, the ability to read schematics and manuals, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read detailed technical schematics, manuals, and warnings.
• Ownership of a selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at long-term customer sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and related services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operation at job sites.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Return equipment to safe working condition and provide detailed service reports.
