Job summary

Herc Rentals seeks a Field Service Mechanic B to support fleet maintenance at customer job sites in Deer Park, TX. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair diesel and electric pumps, and mentor junior technicians from a service truck.

This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and on-time service completion. The position requires a solid mechanical foundation, ability to read schematics, operate a service truck, and lift up to 50 lbs in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and ability to operate a service truck.
• Owns a selection of hand and air/electric tools for repairs.
• Ability to drive/operate multiple vehicle types.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
• Proficiency in Field Service Mechanic C-level tasks.
• Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; ability to read schematics.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and job site environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance at active job sites and maintain PM schedules.
• Independently perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and onsite part replacements.
• Diagnose and repair cooling, electrical, and hydraulic systems using service truck and fleet tools.
• Use fleet management system to enter/review work orders and document visits.
• Mentor Field Service Mechanic C technicians and assist shop lead as needed.
• Maintain organized service truck and inventory; ensure safety procedures are followed.
