Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Field Service Department in the assigned area. You will manage a technician and installer team, coordinate with Motorola and end customers, and drive installation and repair tasks to completion.

The role involves organizing field work, providing technical support, and overseeing diagnostics, maintenance, and FATP activities across wireless systems. Travel and on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership in technical management in wireless/related field.
  • Experience developing and directing new business opportunities via customer interface and requirements gathering.
  • Knowledge of vendor resources networks and complex project implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Field Service Department in the assigned area.
  • Serve as liaison between BearCom technicians and Motorola or end customers.
  • Prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for installation and repair tasks.
  • Organize and schedule upcoming field work and provide technical support in the field.
  • Install, maintain, and service wireless communication equipment and related hardware.
  • Lead FATP execution, site surveys, and customer acceptance testing per requirements.
  • Provide coaching and training to field service technicians and installers.
  • Travel and on-call work may be required; support multiple projects as needed.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a technician team that consists of technicians and installers with varying level of competencies. This position requires extensive interaction with multiple customer organizations, product vendors and manufactures, and with senior management of the company.RESPONSIBILITIESManage projects and service assignments as needed.Act as direct liaison between BearCom technicians and Motorola or end customer.Work with customers to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for completing installation and repair tasks.Assist with organizing and scheduling upcoming field work.Provides technical support in field operations.Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.Install, maintain and provide technical support and service of wireless communications equipment such as: UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems.Operate mobile, portable radio equipment, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems, using both conventional and trunked radio technologies.Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner.Provide hands-on and oversight of communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation such as base stations, repeaters, mobile devices, portable devices, wireless broadband devices, and cctv equipment.
