Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to serve as a master technician and lead in quality standards within the branch. You will support customer jobsites by applying your mechanical expertise to keep the Herc fleet in optimal condition.

You will be dispatched to local jobsites, work independently, and build strong relationships with customers while contributing to the growth and reliability of the community.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer job sites.
• Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition at the job site.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Build positive relationships with customers and adhere to safety guidelines at active job sites.
