Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. seeks an experienced Fleet Technician - Field Service for Mobile Storage to diagnose and repair equipment at customer sites. You will focus on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues while representing the company on-site.

Responsibilities include lead diagnostics, multi-trade troubleshooting, on-site customer interactions, and timely documentation. The role requires strong communication, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently in varying

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Trade skill training preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and complex work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail for quality repairs and customer interaction.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make real-time decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead diagnostics and repairs at customer sites, acting as the primary on-site representative.
• Perform complex repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.
• Complete multi-trade troubleshooting and repairs, including leaks and damage.
• Provide technical guidance to other technicians in the shop or field.
• Document work orders and materials accurately using mobile apps.
• Ensure safety and quality on every job with proper PPE and procedures.
• Coordinate with customers, set expectations, and manage basic conflicts.
• Complete site services, installations, and disassembly as required.
