Job summary

Worldwide Power Products, LLC is seeking a Level III Generator Technician in Houston, Texas. The role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining diesel and natural gas generators ranging from 20 kW to 500 kW.

Job description

Level III Generator Technician – responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining diesel and natural gas generators and engines ranging from 20 kW to 500 kW. Tasks include identifying electrical generator failures, diagnosing, and performing mechanical repairs on generator systems.



Responsibilities


  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and assist in intermediate and advanced corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Replace batteries, belts, hoses, oil, filters and perform general upkeep.

  • Complete service reports, PM checklists, and timecards accurately and legibly.

  • Schedule and respond to emergency calls and perform job‑site scope of work.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot motor and generator problems (out of fuel, dead battery, etc.), provide recommendations and complete repairs within standard times.

  • Conduct load bank testing and block‑heater installations.

  • Install and evaluate automatic transfer switch (ATS) equipment, and perform control‑panel conversions.

  • Set up, start, and operate equipment at internal rigs and customer locations.

  • Prepare reports maintaining accurate records of equipment and preventive maintenance activities.

  • Assist Level II technicians with training, supervision, and mentorship.



Safety


  • Maintain knowledge of and practice safe work activities per OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.

  • Report unsafe conditions or acts to management promptly.

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment whenever required.



Additional Responsibilities


  • Provide and utilize personal tools necessary for the job; necessary tool list provided below.

  • Attend training sessions as required.

  • Perform all additional duties assigned by management.

  • Allen wrench set up to ½\" (Metric & SAE)

  • Amp meter

  • Adjustable wrench set

  • Phase rotation meter



Requirements

Education


  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Graduation from technician or maintenance training program preferred.


Certifications & Licenses


  • Valid Texas driver's license.
