Key Responsibilities
- Proactively maintain customer relationships and act as the primary feedback loop into service sales and technical support groups.
- Provide exceptional on‑site customer support, addressing inquiries, offering technical assistance and ensuring a high first‑time fix rate.
- Perform planned customer visits: inspect and service industrial vacuum pumps and associated equipment, including routine maintenance and ad‑hoc visits.
- Troubleshoot and repair on‑site to minimize downtime and maintain system efficiency.
- Undertake installation and commissioning of vacuum technology products, ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
- Maintain safety compliance by conducting risk assessments and using prescribed personal protective equipment.
- Document and report on site maintenance activities, repairs, and any encountered issues, providing comprehensive reports to clients and management.
- Identify potential problems during site visits and offer preventive maintenance solutions to avoid future disruptions.
- Generate sales leads while on‑site to support the sales team.
- Provide training and mentoring to colleagues and customers, sharing lessons learned.
- Engage in continuous learning of the latest vacuum technology and improve technical skills.
- Collaborate with the internal team to develop optimal solutions for customer‑specific situations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Expertise on vacuum pump systems: comprehensive understanding of various types of pumps (rotary vane, scroll, turbomolecular) and their operational principles.
- 2–4 years of experience in a similar role, with a general understanding of mechanical processes.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot issues within vacuum systems.
- Strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles for repairing motors, seals, and control systems.
- Experience with routine and preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system calibrations.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license.
