Job summary

Optimum Sorting seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, service and maintain equipment at customer facilities worldwide, with extensive travel. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, and PLC problems on-site or remotely and train customers on setup and preventive maintenance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering or equivalent, 3–5 years’ hands-on experience, and willingness to travel 140–180 days annually, including international assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of service technician experience with hands-on machinery.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; lift 25–50 lbs.
• Fluent English; strong self-driven problem-solving and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, and PLC issues on-site or remotely.
• Provide technical training on setup, operation, first-line troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Identify bottlenecks and collaborate with service/engineering to implement improvements.
• Travel 140–180 days per year; regional and international assignments; passport required.
