Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover the Tri‑State area (Connecticut, New Jersey, New York). You will spend 80% of your time traveling to customer locations, providing technical services, systems engineering, and support for Oerlikon Metco thermal spray equipment.

You will install, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment, provide training, and assist customers by resolving problems. International travel is included, and you will report on calibration and service activities per ISO

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of technical field service (electro‑mechanical) experience with Thermal spray experience.
• Requires Associates degree education, bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Excellent communications skills, excellent customer relations.
• Must be able to travel 80%, which includes domestic and international assignments.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, perform safety inspections and training on all Oerlikon Metco thermal spray equipment and components.
• Install, integrate, test and train customers on specialized systems including robotic programming, interfacing and vacuum systems.
• Test, analyze, and adjust precision electromechanical instruments. Maintain and adjust electrical and mechanical components utilized with the Oerlikon Metco thermal spray equipment.
• Calibrate and adjust components and instruments in accordance with established ISO / Oerlikon Metco engineered standards.
• Perform safety inspections on all Oerlikon Metco equipment and install in accordance to engineered procedures and NEC, CGA and NFPA guidelines.
• Complete calibration reports in accordance to ISO certifications. Complete service reports indicating cause and resolution of problems encountered.
• Complete daily time sheets and expense reports.
• Complete customer telephone technical reports.
