Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover the Tri-State area (CT, NJ, NY). You will spend 80% of your time traveling to customer locations to provide technical services, system engineering, and support.

Responsibilities include installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting Oerlikon Metco thermal spray equipment and components, plus training and on-site testing. You will also perform safety inspections, ISO-aligned calibrations, and detailed service reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years technical field service (electro-mechanical) experience with Thermal spray experience.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to field service and customer service support responsibilities.
• Requires Associates degree education, bachelor's degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, perform safety inspections and training on all Oerlikon Metco thermal spray equipment and components.
• Install, integrate, test and train customers on specialized systems including robotic programming, interfacing and vacuum systems.
• Test, analyze, and adjust precision electromechanical instruments. Maintain and adjust electrical and mechanical components utilized with the Oerlikon Metco thermal spray equipment.
• Calibrate and adjust components and instruments in accordance with established ISO / Oerlikon Metco engineered standards.
• Perform safety inspections on all Oerlikon Metco equipment and install in accordance to engineered procedures and NEC, CGA and NFPA guidelines.
• Complete calibration reports in accordance to ISO certifications. Complete service reports indicating cause and resolution of problems encountered.
• Complete daily time sheets and expense reports.
• Complete customer telephone technical reports.
