Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Lehi, UT is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) to install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment.

You will serve as the direct liaison with customers and work with senior engineers to address technical challenges. Role includes preventative and corrective maintenance across electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems, plus mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with customers on roadmaps and processes.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of semiconductor equipment field service experience.
• Associate degree or military technical training or trade certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 25%.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment with senior engineer support.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to understand roadmaps and requirements.
• Train and mentor junior field service engineers.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
