Job summary

Atlas Copco in Houston, TX seeks a Field Service Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on pumps and mechanical equipment. You will travel to customer sites, evaluate equipment, perform assemblies/disassemblies, and assist with start-up activities under guidance.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in mechanical work, fluency in English, and ability to follow procedures in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years related mechanical experience and/or training preferred.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Basic mechanical skills to evaluate and repair pumps and related mechanical equipment with guidance.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures, complete checklists, and learn to use inspection and test equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs following established procedures, checklists, and safety requirements.
• Assist with pump evaluations, disassembly/inspection, and reassembly activities under guidance; use inspection tools and gauges as trained.
• Support basic troubleshooting and start-up assistance; upscale complex or non-routine issues to senior technicians/management with clear notes and findings.
• Document work performed (service reports, work orders, test data, parts used) accurately and timely.
• Occasional local travel to customer sites for repairs and support.
