Job summary

Honeywell International, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, start-up, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade automation control systems for the Pulp & Paper sector.

The role requires travel to customer sites across the Midwest and West, with on-site support for QCS (90%) and EPKS/DCS (10%). You will work with plant operators and Honeywell personnel to ensure uptime, perform preventive maintenance, and document activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year of professional experience in engineering or technical field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass customer background checks and random drug testing.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Basic Windows OS and Microsoft Office experience.
• Knowledge of system installation, configuration and maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities.
• Work safely in Honeywell and customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Pulp & Paper customer sites to provide technical support and maintenance.
• Support QCS and EPKS/DCS control systems at customer facilities.
• Assist with plant and machine outages.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, system diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Support system upgrades, installations, and modernization projects.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors, and Honeywell personnel.
• Coordinate with Honeywell Global Technical Assistance Center on complex issues.
• Conduct on-site pre-start-up, start-up, warranty, and training.
• Maintain system backups and update Windows OS/antivirus as needed.
• Review drawings, specs, and system documentation.
• Participate in on-call duties and respond to callouts.
• Document service activities and prepare periodic reports using Office tools.
• Maintain proficiency in Honeywell products and safety requirements.
• Communicate professionally with customers and maintain relationships.
• Mentor peers and contribute to continuous improvement.
