Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the Field Service Organization and government/public safety customers. The role covers deployment, optimization, and repair of mission-critical digital mobile systems across LAN/WAN networks.

You will work with customers, engineers, sales, and project teams 24/7/365 to ensure system performance and reliability. The position requires an associates degree or related certificates, US citizenship for security clearance, and

Qualifications

• Exposure to RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment and IT networks.
• Must have knowledge of wired/wireless communications systems, such as LAN and WAN.
• Must have knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet-switching techniques.
• Must be highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
• Must have strong self-management skills and people skills to work closely with customers and subcontractor partner community and internal teams.
• Must be self-motivated and able to perform duties at distance from direct supervision.
• Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.
• Knowledge of configuration and testing of channel banks, routers, hubs, and switches.
• Ability to develop and present technical training.
• Provides guidance in integrating new tools and solutions into operations.
• FCC license and ETA certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for specialized systems and product applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics.
• Provisioning communication system infrastructure and optimizing RF and broadband architecture.
• Maintain, optimize, test, document, and support complex communication systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance with focus on trend analysis and documentation.
• Develop solutions for difficult technical problems encountered during maintenance or upgrades.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Customer Service to maintain and support systems.
• Deliver strong knowledge of wired communication systems (LAN/WAN).
• Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.
