Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a Field Service Engineer for the Austin, TX area. You will perform complex installation, modification, repair and preventive maintenance on Brooks’ equipment and systems, coordinating with customers and internal teams to ensure high service levels.

The role requires electro-mechanical/electronics experience, travel (domestic/international), and the ability to work in challenging environments, including potential clean room operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of electro-mechanical/electronics technical support/repair experience.
• Experience with lasers and sensing devices for positioning circuitry on robotic units.
• Experience troubleshooting microelectronics schematics and digital circuits.
• Proficiency with PCs, Windows, and DOS-based operating systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on Brooks equipment and systems.
• Isolate and resolve complex malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate work direction for other Service Engineers and provide on-site support as needed.
• Lead installation, modification, testing, upgrades, and preventive diagnostics for hardware and software.
• Interface with customers to ensure satisfaction and participate in status meetings.
