Job summary

RMS Energy seeks an entry-level Field Service Engineer to support critical energy infrastructure nationwide. You’ll assist with testing and maintenance of transformers, switchgear, breakers, and more, under mentorship, across power plants and industrial facilities.

Gain hands-on experience, learn to operate high‑voltage equipment, and grow into senior roles while adhering to safety protocols and standard procedures. Travel nationwide; strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology, Power Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 0–1 years experience in electrical maintenance or related field.
• Familiarity with low/medium voltage equipment.
• Ability to read simple one-line diagrams and schematics.
• Strong safety mindset and teamwork.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.
• Must pass background checks and pre-employment drug tests.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather and environments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain low- to high-voltage systems (480V–600kV).
• Support transformer testing using Doble/Megger equipment.
• Perform cable tests including VLF, Tan Delta, and DC Hi-Pot.
• Shadow relay testing for electromechanical and solid-state relays.
• Participate in functional testing of protection and control systems.
• Read diagrams and manuals with guidance from senior staff.
• Travel to customer sites across the country; overtime or weekends as needed.
